Archive for January, 2015

This week’s focus point:  It’s just after 6 am on New Year’s Day 2015 and I can’t see where I am going! The fog is rolling in to calm things down after the New Year’s Eve celebrations on the Sea Point promenade and my glasses are covered with the first droplets of 2015 fogginess.

The fog horn chimes in to let ships know about possible dangers.

It was a very uncertain environment – definitely not one for making bold moves!

A clear day would have changed everything. I would be able see clearly where I am going and Eskom would have been saved a few fog horn watts.

Clarity is the foundation of productivity.

If you are not clear about what your life is about and what matters most to you personally and professionally, the goals you set and the planning you do to get your resources aligned could be a waste of energy and time – because what are you focusing on and aligning to?  When this happens we have those days where we say “I’ve been so busy but feel like I achieved nothing.”

You may want to check out Steve Pavlina’s thoughts about gaining clarity in your own quest for clarity and direction.

I wish you crystal clear clarity for your 2015 “big things” to focus you energy and time so that on 31 December 2015 you will be able to say that you have enjoyed a productive, happy and fulfilling year.

Enjoy 2015!

PS: If you have just shy of 3 minutes, enjoy the Johnny Nash song (with some nice pictures) “I can see clearly now” right here.  When you listen, think “year” instead of “day”…

Monday Morning Perspective:  “People are remarkably bad at remembering long lists of goals. I learned this at a professional level when trying to get my high-performance coaching clients to stay on track; the longer their lists of to-dos and goals, the more overwhelmed and off-track they got. Clarity comes with simplicity.” – Brendon Burchard
